Taproom Rental FAQs

• Can I bring guests under 21 to my event?

  Underage guests are welcome to private events as long as they are always accompanied by a parent or guardian in certain rental locations. If underage guests are found consuming alcohol, they and their parent/guardian will be asked to leave immediately.

• I have some guests who don’t drink beer, can we have wine or liquor at our event?

  Unfortunately, no. Our licensing does not allow us to serve any outside alcoholic beverages aside from our current draft lineup, which means we cannot allow other beer, wine, spirits or hard cider to be consumed on the premises.

• Someone in my party is gluten-free, what can they drink?

  We offer Truly Wildberry Hard Seltzer on tap served with ice!

• Do you carry non-alcoholic beverages?

  Yes, we have our Just the Haze non-alcoholic beer available behind the bar as well as a list of soft drinks.

• How about food?

  For parties under 45 folks, we can take a pre-order of our on-site bar snacks inclusive of pretzels, tater tots, etc and send them out in waves once folks from your group start to arrive. For larger events, we require catering from one of our Preferred Partners. When you submit your inquiry, we will send you the latest up to date catering menus. We do not allow outside food of any kind with the small exception of a cake for small celebrations!

• What if it rains and my party has rented out the rooftop?

  We’ll work with you to come up with a backup plan for your event indoors should the Outdoor Rooftop get rained out and accommodate your group.

• Can I have music or a DJ during my event?

  We offer access to our Sonos system speakers that is linked to our Spotify account if you have a playlist you want to feature for a full rooftop, Beer Hall or 1984 buyout. We can accommodate a band or DJ only for our Main Beer Hall or Full Rooftop buyouts only.

• Where can I park?

  We do not have a parking lot for our location as we’re located just outside Faneuil Hall Marketplace but there are several parking garages in the area! For public transport, the closest T stop is State Street off of the Blue/Orange lines and Government Center off of the Green line. For ride share services, we’d recommend having the drop off location set to the Sam Adams Statue.

• We need to use a projector/ A/V equipment / a microphone. Can you help with that?

  The 1984 Room has private access to a TV that you can plug into for any presentations. For full rooftop buyouts, we can provide a microphone and speaker but do not have alternative A/V equipment up there. For Beer Hall Buyouts, you would have access to both the large projector and microphone.

• Do you host wedding events?

  We are currently only offering Welcome Wedding Receptions during the Summer & Fall months and taking them on Thursday and Friday late evenings for parties of up to 140-150 guests. We are currently booking into 2023 & 2024! We cannot accommodate formal Wedding Receptions unfortunately as our rooftop does not have dedicated formal seating and catering options.

• Do you offer any non-profit rates?

  We only offer discounts for non-profits on the rental fee of semi-private Ground level sectionals of less than 40 folks on Mondays & Tuesdays.

• Do you offer Saturday rentals?

  We only allow parties up to 20 folks for our 1984 Private Room on Saturdays at the Taproom as it is our busiest day of the week!

• How far in advance do I need to book out?

  For sectionals, we ask for about 7 days lead time if possible. For larger events, we require at least 14 days in advance so we can get your catering ordered settled due to Supply Chain issues.

• How do you take payment?

  For sectionals, we take the full rental fee as a deposit at the time of booking. For larger events, we take 50% of the rental fee as a deposit at the time of booking. This deposit is fully refundable up to 14 days before your event. The remaining 50% is due 14 days before your event. We can take payment via our Square online link or by check handed in person at the Taproom during operating hours.
